Who We Are
America's Fiberglass Pool Specialists
Fiberglass Pool Rx does one thing: we restore fiberglass pools with factory-grade marine gel coat. Not gunite. Not vinyl. Not paint. One material, one process, 15+ years, delivered by route-based crews across 16 states.
Most pool companies treat fiberglass as a sideline, something they'll "take a look at" between gunite replasters and liner swaps. We built Fiberglass Pool Rx on the opposite bet: that fiberglass pools deserve specialists who work on nothing else. Fifteen-plus years later, that's still all we do.
Why we only do fiberglass
A fiberglass pool isn't a hole with a finish on it. It's a molded composite shell, closer to a boat hull than to a gunite pool. It flexes. It reacts to groundwater. It fails in its own particular ways: chalking, osmotic blisters, spider cracks, cobalt spots, bulging walls.
Curing those failures takes composite skills: laminating, fairing, moisture management, and spraying gel coat at controlled thickness. A crew that does one fiberglass job a month never builds those skills. A crew that does nothing else, week after week, state after state, can't help but master them. Specialization isn't a marketing line for us. It's the whole business model.
So when your pool is sick, you're not getting a generalist's best guess. You're getting a diagnosis and repair from people who have seen your exact symptom hundreds of times.
The route-based model: how a specialist reaches 16 states
Here's the honest problem with fiberglass expertise: there isn't enough of it to put a true specialist in every town. Most areas have pool painters. Very few have composite crews.
Our answer is routes. Instead of waiting for enough local work, we schedule projects along planned corridors through 16 states, Alabama to West Virginia, Texas to Illinois. When you book, your project joins the next route through your area with a confirmed arrival window. The crew arrives with everything the job needs, stays on your pool until it's finished, and moves on only when you're swimming-ready.
What that means for you:
- The same crew quality everywhere. A pool in a small town gets the same specialists as a pool in a big metro.
- No mid-job disappearing act. One pool at a time, start to finish, the route only moves when your project is done.
- One phone number, forever. Support before, during, and years after the job is the same team at (870) 819-4534.
Our materials philosophy: gel coat, never paint
Your pool left the factory wearing marine-grade gel coat. When we restore it, it gets marine-grade gel coat again, spray-applied in multiple passes, chemically bonded to the shell, built for 15-25 years underwater. That's our core resurfacing service, and it's the only surface we'll put on your pool.
We will not quote you epoxy paint. Ever. Paint sits on top of the surface, chalks and fades in 2-4 years, then peels, and every repaint makes the next failure worse. It's cheaper on day one and more expensive every year after. If a contractor offers to "resurface" your fiberglass pool with paint, they're offering you a bandage and calling it a cure. See the full gel coat vs. paint comparison, we'd rather you understand the difference even if you never hire us.
If we wouldn't put it on our own pool, it doesn't go on yours. That rules out paint, shortcuts on prep, and any repair we can't stand behind in writing.
The team promise
Every Fiberglass Pool Rx project runs on the same commitments, no matter the state or the size of the job:
- Diagnosis before dollars. A specialist reviews your photos and calls with straight answers within one business day, free, through the Free Pool Checkup. If you don't need a full resurface, we say so.
- A real schedule. You get a confirmed route window up front, not a "we'll call you."
- Photo updates daily. You see every stage of the treatment plan, even if you're a thousand miles away.
- A clean jobsite. Containment, daily cleanup, and a backyard that looks better than we found it.
- A written warranty on every job. Not a handshake, paper you keep, backed by a company that answers its phone.
Where "The Cure for Sick Pools" came from
The medical language isn't a gimmick, it's how we actually work. Pools show symptoms. Symptoms point to causes. Causes have correct treatments and incorrect ones. Diagnose first, prescribe second, treat properly, and put the outcome in writing. Somewhere along the way, customers started calling us the pool doctors, and the name stuck.
It also keeps us honest about scope. A doctor who prescribes surgery for a scrape doesn't stay a doctor long. Plenty of pools that reach us need a repair, not a full resurface, and when that's the case, that's what we quote. The before-and-after gallery shows both kinds of outcomes, because both are wins.
Meet the founder
Fiberglass Pool Rx was founded by a composite-repair tradesman who got tired of watching homeowners pay painters to fail. That founder story, the name, the face, and the first pool, belongs here.
